Mihingo Lodge Location and Overview

Mihingo Lodge is situated on a rocky outcrop comprised of pre-Caribbean granite boulders which were formed over 500 years ago. The lodge is surrounded by Lake Mburo National Park and lush savannah vegetation. Its delicate style comprising of patterns and formations carefully crafted from local materials blends well with the natural surrounding.

The lodge is a complex of 12 luxury tented rooms carefully built and furnished to suit the priorities of the avid safari travellers – comfort, luxury, tranquillity and adventure. Some rooms are set on raised wooden platforms looking out the lake and others are concealed within canopies of large and tall trees. The location of the lodge makes visits from wild game inevitable.

Mihingo Lodge Facilities


Mihingo Lodge has 12 luxury tented rooms designed and furnished to guarantee the comfort of guests while on their safari holiday.  Each of the tents is fitted with an ensuite bathroom, flushing toilet and shower having a supply of both hot and cold water. Some of the rooms are set on raised platforms looking out to the lake and other rooms are nestled away in the forest – the location of each tented room guarantees ultimate privacy and tranquillity.

Restaurant and bar

Mihingo Lodge has a restaurant which serves mouth-watering local, continental and dishes prepared by experienced chefs. Special dietary requirements are considered if communication is made on time. The breakfasts, lunches and dinners at Mihingo Lodge are meals to remember.

The lodge has a fully stocked bar including an assortment of liquors and beverages to cater for the varied needs of the guests. The bar is open all day long and guests can always have a drink especially after their safari excursions in Lake Mburo National Park.

Craft shop

The lodge has a craft shop where guests can buy gifts for their loved ones and souvenirs to remind them of their safari tour in Uganda – the Pearl of Africa. The items in the craft shop include crafts, clothing, paintings and art pieces most of which are made from traditional and local materials.


Swimming pool

Characteristic of a luxury facility, Mihingo Lodge has a state of the art swimming pool where guests can always dive for a swim to unwind and relax especially after an adventurous day spent in Lake Mburo National Park – one of Uganda’s prime safari destinations.

Solar power

Mihingo Lodge has a Solar power system to supply electricity in all its facilities. The rooms are well lit by Solar bulbs and there are power outlets to allow charging of phones and other electronic gadgets. The ensuite bathrooms are fitted with solar water heaters to ensure the supply of hot water. Guests can have a warm water bath whenever they feel like. Safari days and nights at Mihingo Lodge are memorable.

Running water

Mihingo lodge has water pumps which are run by a solar system to supply water in all the facilities including both hot and cold water in the ensuite bathrooms.  The lodge also has a water catchment system which collects water in the rainy season. Cases of water shortage are unheard of at the lodge
